Experience & Vision
In 1985, Roland Mandler founded Optotech GmbH in Wettenberg – today one of the world's leading companies in the field of optical manufacturing machines.
As a pioneer of optical processing technologies, he significantly shaped the industry. Many of his developments are now industry standard – built on almost five decades of experience in the optical industry.

At Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), we operate a fully equipped research laboratory. Here we combine industrial practice with academic research and specifically train junior professionals for the optics and photonics industry.
Our projects are developed as part of master's theses and in collaboration with industrial partners – often funded by BMWF programmes. This is how innovations are created that benefit science and industry alike.
